The Trap’s Jaw (formerly Contain) is a musical project from college student and cassette enthusiast Michelle Arf. Currently living in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, Michelle makes experimental music with an electroacoustic bent; coming from a jazz background, she usually creates records via structured improvisation followed by later editing. Influenced by Tim Hecker, Keith Rowe, Iannis Xenakis, John Coltrane, and Jeph Jerman among others, she is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist with a particular taste for degraded audio, field recordings, and subtle diatonic minimalism. Her favorite food is tacos.
